Town of Apex, NC Fire and Police Department Substation

Currently under construction, this facility is a result of a space needs assessment performed by Stewart Cooper Newell Architects. The Police Department will require major renovations and additions to provide the floor space needed and address the security concerns of the facility. The renovations and additions are transforming the facility from approximately 15,000 SF to over 33,000 SF while simultaneously dramatically transforming the aesthetic qualities of the building. The dated exterior is being replaced with a two-story facade that captures the excitement of the downtown area and provides a prominent entry and lines of security for the facility. The added floor space will meet both the current needs of the Department and the projected future needs.This facility will also hold a high-efficiency mechanical system, including a condensing boiler.
